A novel about Crimea is published in Slovak translation

The novel about Crimea "Beyond Perekop is Land" has been published in Slovak translation.

This was reported by the author of the book, member of the Ukrainian PEN Center, writer Anastasia Levkova on her Facebook page.

"Well, we can already say about it. The Slovak translation of "Beyond the Perekop is the Land" has been released. The translator is Ondrej Hubinski, DAJAMA publishing house. The cover, as I understand it, is based on the original by Iva Kucherenko," the statement reads.

DAJAMA also published the book "The Wolf" by Ukrainian Konstantin Chabala.

In 2023, Kyiv's Laboratory Publishing House published a book by Lviv writer Anastasia Levkova, Beyond the Dig is the Land. The author and the publisher defined her genre as a "Crimean novel." The writer has been working on the book for over 10 years. The novel tells the reader about the Crimean peninsula, where the past and present are intertwined, as well as the fates of people who have an inextricable link with this territory. The author draws attention to historical events such as the Cossack campaigns, World War II, the deportation of Crimean Tatars, and the current tragic events of Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014.

Earlier it was reported that the Kharkiv publishing house Folio presented a book by Odesa journalist, editor of the Intent publication Yevhenia Genova -"Crimean Tatar Families", in which the media personality collected stories of 14 families. The book consists of 14 stories of Crimean Tatar families, covering various historical events, from the occupation of Crimea in the 18th century to the full-scale invasion in 2022. In fact, these are memoirs of ordinary people who recall how these events affected the lives of their ancestors and grandparents, as well as their return to Crimea in the 1990s, the Crimean resistance in 2014, and the armed resistance to the Russian invaders since February 24, 2022.

In March, residents of Odesa had the opportunity to learn the story of the book and talk to the author. On April 28, the book "Crimean Tatar Families" was presented at the Kyiv Book Festival at VDNH.
