A pilot of the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Air Force based in Mykolaiv failed to return to his base while performing a combat mission. He was performing a mission in one of the hottest areas of the frontline.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Tactical aviation pilots operate in difficult conditions, often getting into the range of enemy air defense. To perform combat missions, they use available munitions, including foreign-made ones, and operate in high-risk conditions.

The Air Force Command expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased and notes that such losses are a reminder of the complexity and danger of the pilots' combat work.

The city of Mykolaiv has decided to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers. To do this, they plan to create a Book of Remembrance.

At the end of August, Mykolaiv hosted the annual national race "Honor the Warriors, Run for the Heroes of Ukraine" dedicated to the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine. The event was attended by relatives, friends and friends of the servicemen.

Also in Mykolaiv region, sailors unveiled a memorial in honor of the fallen soldiers of one of the Ukrainian Navy units who gave their lives in the Russian-Ukrainian war for the sake of their homeland. The memorial has become an important symbol of honoring the heroism and sacrifice of the sailors who defend Ukraine from aggression, and a reminder of the losses the country suffered in this war.

In June, it is planned to create a memorial complex dedicated to the memory of the fallen warrior heroes who defended the country in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning has approved the design task for the construction of the memorial complex.

Recently, the exhibition"86 Days of Mariupol's Defense" was opened on Mykolaiv's Soborna Square. The exhibition was created to highlight the main chronology of the events of the defense of Mariupol, which lasted for 86 days, as well as to remind the military who have been in enemy captivity for more than two years.
