Cabinet of Ministers suspends funding for Izmail airport

The municipal enterprise Izmail Airport will not receive a subvention of UAH 70 million.

This is a result of the fact that on April 13, the Parliament passed a law amending the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020.

According to Ukrainian MP Anatoliy Urbanskyi, the law was amended to allow the issue to be reconsidered after the quarantine is over. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"To all the skeptics and those who are just worried about the airport, I want to remind you that the state has funded the development of design and estimate documentation, and this process does not stop. So as soon as the situation changes for the better, I will raise the issue of allocating funding for the airport again," the MP promised.

As a reminder, in the summer of 2019, Izmail Airport started a major overhaul, which was scheduled to be completed last year. Last fall, the airport received a land plot of almost 0.6 hectares for permanent use.

In March of this year, Odesa Regional Council announced a tender to select a contractor to improve the territory of the Izmail Airport.
