A meeting with Oleksa Riznykov, a well-known Ukrainian writer, linguist, dissident, educator, and fighter for Ukraine, took place on February 22 at the Hrushevsky Library in Odesa.

According to the organizers of the meeting, it was held on the occasion of the poet's 88th birthday and as part of the project "Reading...Honoring."

Oleksa Riznykiv is a public figure who stood up for Ukraine with his high and strong poetic word more than half a century ago and continues his titanic work to this day, following his calling and purpose.

Among his students are Nina Kuriata, Hanna Kostenko, Iryna Toma, Oleksandr Ptashchenko, Oleksandra Hryhorieva, Oleksandr Tchaikovsky, Dmytro Drozdovsky (winner of the Oles Honchar International Prize), who are now members of the NUWP, and beginners such as Hanna Osadchuk, Maryna Andrushchenko, and others who have already published their own books.

She is the author of more than 10 books.

Earlier, the exhibition "Catharsis of Love" by Sonia Morozyuk opened in Odesa at the Artodessa gallery on February 14.

A photo exhibition "Fragility" composed of works by four authors opened at the Odesa Municipal Museum of Personal Collections named after O. Bleshchunov and lasted until the end of January.

A meeting was also held at the National Art Museum of Odesa to discuss important topics, including decolonization, the multiculturalism of the region, and the shared memory of the past and present.

In Odesa, writer and film director Iryna Tsilyk presented her new collection Thin Ice, which includes poems written over the past eight years. The book was designed by Ukrainian artist Mitya Fenechkin.
