The epileptic seizure of a man in Odesa, who was found by passers-by on the road, is not related to his being beaten by anyone, including military personnel of the territorial center for recruitment and social support or law enforcement officers.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
A video of a man lying on the street, shivering, with a pool of blood under his head, was posted on a number of Telegram channels, claiming that he had been beaten by TCC soldiers.
In particular, the authors of the posts claimed that the military and law enforcement officers had attacked the man in order to mobilize him, and when he began to resist, they hit him on the head. As a result, the man allegedly suffered an epileptic seizure, after which the attackers left him in the open and drove away.
Instead, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation, the workers talked to the man and he explained to them that he had been diagnosed with epilepsy for a long time. After drinking alcohol, he fell to the ground. Later, his wife found him and called an ambulance.
In April, police detained a resident of Izmail district, Odesa region, for obstructing the legitimate activities of military personnel at territorial centers for recruitment and social support after he threatened them with weapons.
In March, in Odesa, a civilian beat an employee of the Prymorskyi district recruitment and social support center during a document check. During the verification of military registration documents by soldiers of the city's Prymorskyi RTC and JV, one of the men suddenly became aggressive and inflicted bodily harm on the soldier.
Law enforcement officers responded promptly to the situation, which allowed the conflict to be quickly ended. Later, a video was posted online in which the man described how the verbal conflict escalated into a fight and what happened next.
