A former judge of the Leninsky District Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was found guilty of treason and sentenced to 12 years in prison.

This was reported by the Center for Investigative Journalism with reference to the verdict of the Dniprovsky District Court of Kyiv.

According to the publication, the convicted woman is Oksana Donik, who, after the beginning of the occupation of the peninsula by Russia, broke her oath and joined the service of the judicial body illegally created by the Russians. Thus, she held the position of a judge of the Leninsky District Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea since October 18, 2013, and in the spring of 2014 she moved to the illegally created "Leninsky District Court of the Republic of Crimea".

It is noted that, according to the case, having moved to work in the illegal Russian "court" and conducting proceedings in the name of the Russian Federation, Donik committed actions to assist in subversive activities against Ukraine and assisted representatives of a foreign state in administering justice on the basis of the legislation of a foreign state.

The post added that the former Ukrainian judge was found guilty of high treason and sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of all her property. The verdict was announced in absentia.

Earlier, it was reported that the head of the executive committee of the pro-Russian public organization People's Front in Crimea would be tried for aiding the aggressor state. Starting in 2022, the accused, as the head of the executive committee of the pro-Russian public organization "People's Front in Crimea", systematically organized fundraisers for quadcopters, thermal imagers and binoculars for the Russian military.

It was also said that nine occupation judges from Crimea had been sentenced for treason against the state. Prosecutors proved that after the occupation of the peninsula, the "judges" betrayed their oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine and went to work in the occupation courts.
