Law enforcement officers suspect a Crimean resident of participating in hostilities on the side of Russia. He was accused of involvement in terrorist activities and violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

This is stated in the suspicion of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Law enforcers served a notice of suspicion to a resident of Simferopol, Oleksiy Borysiuk, who joined an illegal armed group on the side of the aggressor country.

According to the investigation, the man arrived in Sevastopol, where he was interviewed by representatives of the so-called Tavrida battalion and signed a contract for military service. The main tasks of this formation are to participate in the so-called "special military operation", to overthrow the constitutional order of Ukraine by force, to change its borders and to commit terrorist acts.

On the same day, Borysiuk joined the ranks of this armed group. In March 2022, he and other militants went to Mariupol, which was completely surrounded and subjected to massive rocket and artillery attacks. As a result of these actions, civilians were killed. In 2023, for his active participation in hostilities, Borysyuk was awarded the Russian Order for Courage by a presidential decree.

Currently, the man is charged with participation in an illegal armed group, which is provided for in Part 2 of Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Under this article, the suspect may receive up to fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property.

Also, law enforcement officers in Crimea exposed a man who, through the organizations he created, was preparing teenagers for service in the Russian army. According to the investigation, in December 2017, in Simferopol, the suspect founded and headed the Varag club, which trained young people from the age of 14 to serve in the armed forces of the aggressor country. His actions are classified as a violation of the laws and customs of war, for which he faces up to 12 years in prison.

In addition, the former SBU official in Crimea is suspected of cooperation, in particular, of cooperation with the FSB. The investigation believes that he voluntarily joined an illegal armed group that was engaged in repressions in the Kherson region.
