Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation in Odesa region have served a notice of suspicion to an employee of the Center for Support of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of organizing the registration of men's unfitness for military service for money.

According to the SBI press service, in February of this year, the official involved two residents of Odesa region in illegal activities.

They were looking for people who wanted to avoid military service and offered them to deregister from the military register for 12-16 thousand USD. If a person was already wanted for evading mobilization, they promised to resolve this issue as well.

The organizer of the scheme assured potential clients that he had connections in one of the district territorial centers for recruitment and social support in Odesa region, where they were supposed to forge data to exempt persons liable for military service.

According to preliminary data, 10 men managed to use the scheme, some of whom have already been identified. The MoD employee and his accomplices were detained by law enforcement officers while receiving the second part of the bribe from one of the clients in the amount of USD 6 thousand.

The issue of choosing a measure of restraint and removing the Center's employee from office is being decided. The sanction of the article provides for a sentence of up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Also, the State Bureau of Investigation detained an official of the territorial center for recruitment and social support in Odesa region on suspicion of entering false data into the electronic register of conscripts "Oberig" for those wishing to avoid mobilization in exchange for money.
