A third attack on the Kerch bridge between Russia and occupied Crimea is "inevitable," according to representatives of Ukraine's military intelligence.

This was reported by The Guardian.

The publication says that high-ranking officials of the Ukrainian military intelligence service say that they are preparing a third attempt on the bridge, claiming that its destruction is "inevitable."

The publication notes that for Putin, the bridge is a tangible reminder of what he considers one of his greatest political achievements: "returning" the peninsula to Russia in 2014 with the use of secret Russian troops and a sham referendum. For Kyiv, the bridge is also a hated symbol of the illegal annexation of Crimea. Its destruction would strengthen Ukraine's campaign to liberate the peninsula and boost morale on and off the battlefield, where Kyiv's forces are gradually being pushed back.

The Guardian added that the GUR believes it will be able to disable the bridge in the near future.

"We will do this in the first half of 2024," one of the officials told The Guardian, adding that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, already has "most of the funds to achieve this goal."

According to the newspaper, the GUR is implementing a plan approved by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to "minimize" Russia's naval presence in the Black Sea.

Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine saidthat Ukraine needs ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers in order to be able to hit targets in the occupied Crimea and thus reduce the air threat from this direction.

Also, former Commander of the U.S. Army in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, said during an online speech at the 16th Kyiv Security Forum that "Ukraine must continue to put pressure on Russian logistics and Crimea to make the peninsula an unacceptable place for Russian troops."

It was also said that surprises are being prepared for the invaders in the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was reported by Andriy Yusov , a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine . After that, the Russian ship"Sergey Kotov" was destroyed in Crimea.

Also, the railroad that Russian occupants are building on the temporarily occupied territory of southern Ukraine to Crimea is an important target for the Ukrainian military.
