Petro Livik, a deputy of the first convocation of the Mykolaiv Regional Council and a well-known agrarian, has passed away.
According to the Mykolaiv City Council, he died at the age of 92.
Petro Livik was a member of the Mykolaiv Regional Council of the first convocation (1990-1994) and the second convocation (1994-1998). He was also the head of Zelenyi Hai JSC in Voznesenskyi district.
"His life is a decade of dedicated work in the field of agriculture, managerial experience and social activism. Petro Yevtikhiyovych's work was recognized with numerous awards, including the title of Honored Worker of Agriculture of Ukraine, the Certificate of Honor of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, etc.", the statement said.
Petro Livik was the father of former MP Oleksandr Livik, who, according to open sources, began his career in business: first he worked as deputy general director and then as director of Fagot LLC. Since 2001, he has held senior positions at the Zelenyi Hai Wine and Cognac Factory. Along with his business activities, he was involved in politics: in 2002, he was elected to the Mykolaiv Regional Council, and from 2006 to 2014, he represented the Party of Regions in the council. He was also a confidant of Viktor Yanukovych in the 2010 presidential election.
In 2012, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada on the Party of Regions' list, and in 2014 was elected as a member of parliament in constituency 131 as a representative of Petro Poroshenko 's Solidarity Bloc. In the Parliament, he headed the Subcommittee on Non-Traditional and Renewable Energy Sources.
A former MP from Mykolaiv, Mykola Zhuk, has recently died. He had been struggling with a serious illness for a long time and was waiting for a heart transplant in a Kyiv hospital, but did not get it.
