The Crimean ex-prosecutor, who sided with Russia after the occupation of Crimea, was notified of suspicion. He was accused of high treason, participation in fake courts and support for the authorities of the aggressor country.
This is evidenced by the suspicion of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion to Oleksandr Gladun, a former senior prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Central District of Simferopol. According to the investigation, he sided with Russia after the occupation of Crimea and helped create the occupation prosecutor's office.
Gladun Oleksandr Vadymovych, born in 1989, a native of Simferopol, since 2013 held the position of senior prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Central District of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In March 2014, he betrayed his oath of office and agreed to work for an illegally created structure controlled by the Russian Federation.
His candidacy was approved by the so-called "Crimean prosecutor" Natalia Poklonskaya. Gladun took part in the sessions of fake courts and supported the state prosecution on behalf of the Russian Federation. In this way, he helped legitimize the occupation authorities and strengthen the Kremlin's control over the peninsula.
According to the SBU, such actions fall under the signs of high treason. Oleksandr Gladun is charged with Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional actions to the detriment of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by assisting the aggressor state in subversive activities. He is currently in the occupied territory.
Cases where prosecutors have agreed to betray their oath and work for the enemy are not uncommon. In early May, the Security Service of Ukraine served an updated suspicion on Roman Dugarenko, a former Ukrainian prosecutor who also voluntarily joined the occupation authorities after the occupation of Crimea. According to the investigation, he also received an offer of cooperation from Natalia Poklonskaya, and from March to August 2014 he worked as a prosecutor in Simferopol, after which he continued to serve in the Russian prosecutor's office.
