A meeting was held in Mykolaiv with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine Gael Weissier, members of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, representatives of the Danish Expert Investment Fund, and a delegation from the European Investment Bank led by Kristina Mikulova, Head of the EIB's Eastern Europe Regional Center.

This was reported by the press service of Mykolaiv City Council.

The main topic of the meeting was the security situation, the consequences of shelling and, most importantly, the problem of restoring water supply. For three years now, the city has been without drinking water, which poses serious challenges for residents.

They discussed not only donor assistance but also attracting investments that will help create jobs and restore business activity. Particular attention was paid to projects to restore water supply: the French company EgIS is already working on a feasibility study for the construction of new treatment facilities for the city. The European Investment Bank is also considering participating in this critical project.

The importance of transparent monitoring of international assistance and successful cooperation with the EU, in particular within the framework of the Anti-Corruption Initiative, was also emphasized.

On December 20, two trucks of humanitarian aid from the French association Narbonne Ukraine arrived in Mykolaiv.

"Narbonne-Ukraine is a French charitable association established in March 2022 by people who were shocked by Russian aggression and were ready to help the Ukrainian people.

Mykolaiv recently received international support for the restoration of the historic Mykola Arkas Lyceum.

The Mykolaiv region also received support from Lower Saxony, which donated buses for the needs of educational, cultural and sports institutions. A total of nine buses were donated by international partners.
