Health Minister shows hospitals underground in Kherson

"Underground hospitals" have been set up in three medical facilities in Kherson Oblast to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff even under fire.

According to the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko, the following medical institutions have been set up as shelters:

During the working visit, the head of the Ministry of Health got acquainted with the work of local medical institutions, talked to doctors and government officials, focusing on the most important issues, including the provision of quality medical care even in difficult conditions.

The minister noted that last year the government allocated UAH 160 million to create safe conditions in hospitals in Kherson region. He also said that the hospitals in the region are provided with modern equipment: mammography machines, anesthesia machines, oxygen stations, electrocardiographs, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, cars, etc.

Lyashko paid special attention to modular outpatient clinics, one of which is successfully operating in Vysokopillya.

The Minister also visited an outpatient clinic in the village of Posad Pokrovske in Kherson Oblast. The facility was restored and modernized after the de-occupation of the region thanks to the support of international partners.

The outpatient clinic serves the residents of the village (765 people) and the neighboring settlements: Soldatske (57 people) and Blahodatne (495 people). The medical facility is staffed by a team consisting of a family doctor, two nurses, a medical registrar, a driver and a junior medical officer. In addition, narrow-profile specialists come here on certain days.

The outpatient clinic also has an emergency medical center.

In Kherson region, medical facilities have repeatedly come under attack by Russian occupation forces. Therefore, the region is doing everything to save lives.

Earlier, the Novovorontsov community of Kherson region equipped a modern shelter in the hospital. Intent has already written that one of the hospitals in Kherson has also completed repairs, installed the necessary medical equipment, and now the premises are fully ready to receive patients.

Also, a bomb shelter in one of Kherson's medical institutions was restored and re-equipped to provide medical services.
