Honest news must live on: Intent calls for support

An independent media outlet in Odesa is looking for partners and friends for a common cause.

The Odesa-based independent media outlet Intent, which has been informing citizens about events in the region for more than 15 years, is facing a financial challenge. The publication has never had founders from business or politics, has never accepted public funds, and has always remained independent.

Until now, international grants have covered a large part of the costs, but due to changes in the global situation, funding has decreased. That is why Intent is changing its financial model, looking for new sources of income, including cooperation with local businesses and selling its own products.

The editorial board calls on everyone who cares to support independent journalism, both financially and with information. You can become a "friend of Intent," tell your friends about the publication or offer a partnership based on shared values.

Despite the difficulties, Intent does not plan to give up and is confident that Odessans will help preserve honest and professional journalism in the city.

"This situation is a challenge for us, but also an opportunity. We work for Odessans and believe that it is the community that will help us continue to do our job honestly, professionally and independently. We thank everyone who supports us! Your contribution is not just financial aid, it is an investment in the development of quality journalism in Odesa," the statement reads.

You can support Intent here. Every contribution matters!
