In Mykolaiv, a 36-year-old local resident who systematically violated traffic rules was punished with a fine, deprivation of his driver's license and seizure of his car.

This was reported by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the case file, the man was driving a VAZ without a driver's license. Driving down Central Avenue, he collided with a parked Renault. It turned out that this was not the first time he had been fined for drunken driving and not having a license.

The court found out that despite being deprived of his driving license, the man did not stop driving. The court noted that the usual fines and driving bans no longer work in this case. In particular, after the accident, the car he was using was taken by his common-law wife. This was the basis for the court to make a rare decision in such cases - to impound the vehicle for a fee.

From now on, the car will be forcibly seized and put up for auction. After the sale, the funds will be transferred to the former owner, but taking into account the costs of valuation, commissions, enforcement fees, etc. It is important to understand that after all the deductions, the amount the owner will receive may be significantly less than the real market value of the car.

As a result of the case, the court sentenced the man

The court emphasized that violations of the traffic rules may result not only in fines or temporary deprivation of rights, but also in more severe sanctions, such as seizure or even confiscation of the vehicle, and in some cases, administrative arrest.
