The Kherson region has increased the amount of one-time assistance to children who were injured in the war. This is part of the regional social protection program for 2025-2029, which also provides support for the elderly, people with disabilities and families.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Kherson region has increased the amount of one-time financial assistance for children injured in hostilities. From now on, the payment can reach up to 30 thousand hryvnias.

This became possible due to changes made in March 2025 to the Procedure for the use of regional budget funds. These payments are part of the regional social protection program for 2025-2029, which covers support for the elderly, people with disabilities, family assistance, gender equality and combating human trafficking.

In addition, this program provides for financial assistance to residents of Kherson region who were injured as a result of Russian military aggression after February 24, 2022. The amount of this payment from the regional budget is 15 thousand hryvnias.

The Kherson region is also considering the possibility of switching to a system of financial support and voucher assistance for community residents, where possible. This issue was discussed during a meeting of representatives of the UN, international humanitarian organizations, and regional and city military administrations.

In addition, more than 50 people who need money for treatment have received financial assistance. Financial support will also be provided to the families of fallen Ukrainian defenders. In total, the decision was made to allocate UAH 2.8 million for social assistance to residents of the region.

In addition, in 2025, a new business support program was launched by the Danish Refugee Council. As part of this initiative, 34 businesses in the Kherson region received grants ranging from USD 1,000 to USD 5,000 to help them continue to operate, pay taxes, and restore the region's economy.
