Law enforcers exposed a resident of Kherson region who helped Russians run the region. He was served with a notice of suspicion in absentia of voluntarily holding a position in the illegal authorities created by the occupation administration.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the 54-year-old man joined the pro-Kremlin United Russia party in July 2023. In September, he ran in the pseudo-elections to the so-called "Council of Deputies of the Chaplynsk Municipal District of the first convocation" organized by the Russian occupiers. After that, he became the chairman of the "Standing Committee on Social Policy" and later headed the "council of deputies" itself.

While in this position, the suspect actively interacts with the illegal administration and works to popularize the occupation authorities. He holds meetings, makes decisions in accordance with Russian law and communicates with the population of the temporarily occupied territory. He also cooperates with propaganda media, covering the activities of the occupation "council".

Law enforcers classified the man's actions under Part 1 Article 28 and Part 5 Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect is currently wanted, and the investigation is ongoing.

Intent has already written how the court found Igor Dykukha, a deputy of the Kakhovka District Council, guilty of collaboration and sentenced him to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Meanwhile, a resident of Simferopol became a "deputy of the regional council" after the pseudo-elections, actively contributed to the occupation regime and helped the Russian military. For this, he received a suspicion from the prosecutor's office. In addition, the prosecutor's office served suspicion notices in absentia to two residents of the region for collaboration.

The SBU also exposed and served suspicion notices to three residents of Kherson region who cooperated with the occupiers and took administrative positions in illegal authorities.
