The Court of Appeal upheld the sentence of a resident of Kherson region who was sentenced to 11 years in prison for disseminating information about the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the region.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the convict joined a pro-Russian telegram channel and expressed support for Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. Using the same telegram channel, she reported on the location and movement of military equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the regional center. At the same time, the convicted woman realized that this information could be used by the enemy to launch strikes.

In court, the woman did not admit her guilt, so the defense tried to appeal the verdict and insisted on reducing the sentence. The Kherson Court of Appeal upheld the position of the prosecutor's office, upheld the verdict, and dismissed the defense's appeal.

Earlier, the Kherson Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Velyko Oleksandrivskyi District Court, which found Olena Kameneva, a resident of Kostyrka village of the Novoraysk village community of Beryslav district, guilty of collaboration. The Court of Appeal also upheld the complaint of a resident of the village of Sofiyivka in the Kherson region, who helped the Russians hold an illegal referendum and pleaded not guilty, and upheld the court's verdict.

However, the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa fully acquitted Alyona Talko, a resident of the village of Shyroka Balka in the Stanislav community of Kherson district, who was accused of collaboration for her participation in the pseudo-referendum. The court found that the woman had acted under duress of the occupiers and released her from custody.
