Moldovan Foreign Ministry: Russian drones endangered the lives of our citizens

Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popschiu condemned the violation of Moldovan airspace by two Russian drones on Sunday, November 10.

According to the head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, "two Russian decoy drones, which were used to mislead Ukrainian air defense, crashed in Moldova." According to the minister, this "endangered the lives of Moldovan citizens and violated our airspace."

"We strongly condemn these aggressive incursions and reiterate our condemnation of Russia's brutal war against Ukraine," Popschiu added.

On the morning of November 10, the General Inspectorate of Police of Moldova reported the discovery of an unknown drone that crashed near the village of Firledeni, Kaushan district, near the border with Odesa region. Later, they added that a second drone was found in a field near the village of Boroseni Noi in the Rishkan district of Moldova. After the initial examination of the first drone, it was found that it was a Russian-made Shahed drone with no explosives on it. It was reportedly part of a wave of drone strikes that hit Ukraine last night<i>. </i>

The number of people injured in the attack on Odesa by unmanned aerial vehicles on the night of November 10 has risen to two. According to the Air Command, on the night of November 10, 2024 (from 20.00 on November 9), the enemy attacked with a record number of unmanned aerial vehicles, firing 145. As of 9:30 a.m., the military confirmed the downing of 62 enemy UAVs in Odesa, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.

In October, NATO stepped up surveillance of Romania's airspace starting on September 29. The Alliance deployed an airborne surveillance aircraft (AWACS).
