A court hearing was held in Munich, Germany, in the case of the murder of two Ukrainian soldiers who were undergoing rehabilitation in the city of Murnau. Among the dead is a 36-year-old fighter from Kakhovka, Volodymyr Kozin.

This was reported by the German edition of Bild.

The suspect, a 58-year-old Russian citizen, pleaded guilty. His lawyer said that alcohol was the cause of the conflict. According to him, the quarrel began over a bottle of vodka, which was passed around. One of the soldiers did not want to give up the bottle, after which the Russian allegedly pulled out a knife, only wanting to threaten.

"I was afraid I wouldn't have enough... I lost my nerve. Without hesitation, I stabbed him. I saw the blood and seemed to fall into a trance," Bild quoted the suspect as saying.

A blood test showed that the Russian had 2.27 ppm of alcohol at the time of the attack. He also injured his finger during the blows and left a 500-meter-long bloody trail, which helped the police quickly detain him.

However, as the newspaper notes, the suspect had purchased a Solax Sunshine knife just before the attack. This may indicate his premeditated intent. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

The tragedy occurred on April 27, 2024 in Murnau. The Russian inflicted fatal wounds on two Ukrainian soldiers - one of them, 36-year-old Volodymyr Kozin from Kakhovka, died on the spot. The other, 23-year-old Vyacheslav Bezuglyi from Cherkasy region, is in hospital.

Probably, the victims could not fully resist due to the injuries they received at the front.
Later, local media reported that the attacker openly supported Russian aggression, wore the symbols of the occupiers and could have been a supporter of the so-called "Russian world."

One of the deceased was a soldier of the Air Assault Forces. He was injured during the battles for Bilohorivka in 2023 and underwent rehabilitation in Germany.
