Ukraine has received funding to rebuild its social infrastructure. Odesa and Mykolaiv regions are among the regions that have received assistance.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has provided 55 million euros under the Ukraine Recovery Program. The funds guaranteed by the EU will be used to reconstruct medical facilities, social housing, schools, heating, water supply and sewage systems, as well as other important social infrastructure facilities. The projects are scheduled to be implemented in 2025 and beyond.

In total, the funding will allow for the implementation of 151 subprojects in 12 regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovs'k, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions. This initiative is part of the Emergency Solidarity Package created in cooperation with the European Commission.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Ukraine continues to rebuild and they are pleased to be part of this process.

"The Ukraine Recovery Program is a €340 million framework loan from the EIB. It is being implemented by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance. To accelerate the implementation of subprojects, technical assistance is provided by UNDP.

According to Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Economic and Productivity, Implementation and Facilitation, the EU has demonstrated strong and consistent support for Ukraine and its people in the face of the illegal and brutal aggression by the Russian Federation. This support covers all spheres - political, financial, military and humanitarian, including the restoration of the infrastructure of local communities. Т

he EIB, together with the EU, continues to actively support Ukraine by providing financial resources for the restoration of critical infrastructure that contributes to the quality of life and sustainable development of the country even in times of war.

The EU also provides Ukraine with access to funding under the EU4Health program. The total budget of the program for 2021-2027 is 5.3 billion euros. Public authorities, non-governmental organizations, small and medium-sized businesses will be able to receive funding for healthcare improvement projects on equal terms with their counterparts in EU member states.

At the summit on June 23, 27 EU countries supported the granting of EU candidate status to Ukraine. The state will have access to financial assistance for countries preparing to join the EU (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, IPA). Such assistance can be provided through grants, investments, or technical assistance.

The European Commission has given a positive assessment of the indicators that Ukraine has fulfilled as part of the Ukraine Facility Plan. Ukraine has fulfilled all nine indicators provided for in the Plan. Reform measures cover such areas as anti-corruption, business environment, labor market, regional policy, energy market, and environmental protection.
