A court in Mykolaiv has seized the property of corruption suspects. The suspects face up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property for helping to evade mobilization.

This is evidenced by the ruling of the Ingul district court.

A corruption scheme to evade mobilization through officials was exposed in Mykolaiv. According to SBI investigators, the head of the military registration and reservation department, together with a patrol police inspector and the medical director of city hospital No. 1, organized a scheme to issue certificates of temporary unfitness for military service.

According to the investigation, on January 2 and February 13, 2025, the officials received an undue benefit totaling $8,000 for assisting in declaring the man unfit for service and granting him an unreasonable deferral from mobilization.

A police officer and a TCC official were detained after receiving a partial bribe of USD 3 thousand. The detainees were served a notice of suspicion of committing a corruption crime by prior conspiracy, which is punishable under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court ordered the seizure of the suspects' property - funds held on their accounts with PrivatBank and FUIB. This was done for the purpose of further confiscation in case of proof of guilt.

The suspects can appeal the court's decision to the Mykolaiv Court of Appeal within five days, but this does not stop the execution of the ruling. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers do not rule out identifying new defendants in this corruption scheme. Currently, the suspects have been chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention with the possibility of bail.

According to the sanction of the article, the officials face up to ten years in prison, a ban on holding certain positions and confiscation of property.

Another official in Mykolaiv region got off with a fine. The head of the Bereznehuvate railway station of the Odesa Railways was fined UAH 17,000 for attempting to bribe a doctor of the military medical commission. The official pleaded guilty, entered into an agreement with the investigation and agreed to cooperate.

Also in Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers detained a TCC employee and his accomplice who were extorting money from relatives of mobilized soldiers. In exchange for several thousand dollars, they promised to return the conscript home.

In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed three people in Mykolaiv region who were conducting information and subversive activities through social networks aimed at disrupting mobilization and discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
