Mykolaiv has decided to expand the network of city electric transport routes. Public transport will now run to the Matviyivka neighborhood.

This decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council, supplementing the current route map and bus stop locations.

According to the approved changes, a new trolleybus route No. 8 will be introduced, connecting Budivelnykiv Street with the Matviyivka neighborhood. Its length is 27 km and the full circle length is 49 km.

To implement the new changes, the city's utilities will create new traffic management schemes with the patrol police department, as well as install appropriate road signs and other technical means.

The decision is to be published in local media, and the deputy mayor will be responsible for monitoring its implementation. The meeting also emphasized that 10 new autonomous trolleybuses will be delivered to the city within a year.

Mykolaiv continues to modernize its public transport system to ensure accessibility for residents of remote areas. The authorities are analyzing the requests of citizens and working to optimize the route network by introducing a more convenient and stable schedule.

One of the key steps in the transportation reform will be the introduction of a single electronic ticket. In the future, passengers will be able to use one ticket to transfer between different modes of transport within an hour. Currently, this system is only available in electric transport, but it will eventually cover all public transport.

Recently, the authorized capital of the municipal enterprise was increased and the supervisory board expanded. The capital of Mykolaivpastrans has exceeded UAH 100 million. According to the project decision, the additional funds will be used to upgrade the material and technical base, develop the enterprise, and implement investment projects.

In January, the Mykolaiv transport fleet was replenished with three new PTS trolleybuses, which can travel up to 20 kilometers without being connected to the overhead line. New routes to Raketne Urochyshche are also planned. In early December, the city launched a new trolleybus route No. 1. It united two remote neighborhoods - Kulbakyne and Pivdennyi. Four modern trolleybuses run on the route.
