In Mykolaiv, the circumstances of a man's death after receiving a summons are being investigated.
The Mykolaiv regional TCC and JV provided a comment.
Information about the death of a deaf man in Mykolaiv, who was allegedly detained by TCC employees, has been posted online. According to local telegram channels, his body was found 500 meters from the military unit. It is alleged that the cause of death was a heart attack, and the body allegedly showed signs of beatings and fractures.
According to the Mykolaiv Regional TCC, on March 14, 2025, the alert group handed Serhiy Ukhorenko a summons to clarify his credentials. On the same day, the man arrived at the territorial center on his own. During the verification, it turned out that he was registered in another district, was not wanted and had to undergo a medical examination.
The military enlistment office claims that the medical examination found him fit for military service, so on March 15, by order of the head of the TCC, he was drafted and sent to a military unit.
"On March 16, after arriving at the recruitment center, he took advantage of the crowd and deliberately left the territory of the military unit. The search yielded no results, and his enrollment in the unit was canceled. On March 17, the Korabelnyi RTC and JV sent materials to law enforcement agencies about the commission of actions by citizen Ukhorenko that contain signs of a criminal offense under Article 336 of the Criminal Code," the TCC added.
In connection with the disagreements in the public space regarding this incident, the management of the Mykolaiv regional TCC is conducting an internal investigation. Law enforcement officers are also investigating all the circumstances.
Recently, another scandal erupted in Odesa near the collection point of the regional TCC and JV on Zankovetska Street.
Before that, Odesa journalist and writer Victoria Koltunova claimed that soldiers from one of the territorial centers for recruitment and social support grabbed her son on the street of Odesa, took him out of town, and severely beat him, demanding money.
