In Mykolaiv region, an official was fined for trying to bribe a doctor of the Military Medical Commission to obtain a fake medical certificate in order to delay his arrival at the MMC.

According to the Anti-Corruption Dimension, the head of the Bereznehuvate railway station of the Odesa Railways was fined UAH 17,000 for trying to bribe a doctor who is a member of the military medical commission. The official made a deal with the investigation, pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate.

The case file shows that the railroader was entitled to a reservation, but when he updated his credentials in June 2024, he did not have a decision from the Ministry of Economy. To postpone his arrival at the territorial recruitment center, the man decided to use a fake medical certificate.

To do this, he turned to a familiar doctor at the central district hospital who was a member of the military medical commission. The official offered him 2 thousand hryvnias for helping him with a fake diagnosis and organizing an examination at the Military Medical Commission.

The man came to the doctor's office and handed over the bribe. He was exposed at the crime scene and notified of suspicion of giving an illegal benefit to an official.

During the pre-trial investigation, the defendant entered into a plea agreement and was sentenced to a fine.

Recently, in Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers detained an employee of the territorial recruitment center (TCC) and his accomplice for extortion of money from relatives of mobilized persons. In exchange for several thousand dollars, they promised to organize the return of the conscripts home.

Also, a court in Mykolaiv region sentenced a serviceman who failed to return to duty after a leave of absence. In addition, at the end of January, the case of a junior sergeant suspected of extortion for assistance in evading mobilization was considered. The court seized his property, including cash, documents, a phone and a car.
