The Mykolaiv community received technical assistance from USAID: diesel generators for utility companies. In total, the assistance amounted to more than UAH 6.7 million.

The decision to accept international technical assistance was made by the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The city received ALIMAR diesel generators as part of the Hoverla project, which was implemented with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). They will help ensure the smooth operation of utilities during power outages. According to the executive committee, the aid was received in December last year before USAID was reorganized.

Mykolaivvodokanal and Mykolaivelectrotrans were designated as the balance holders of the equipment. In total, the city received 15 diesel generators of various capacities for a total of over UAH 6.7 million.

Anna Syzova, acting head of the Housing and Communal Services Department, was entrusted with the coordination of the project implementation process. The municipal property department of the city council must ensure the preparation of the necessary documents to assign the equipment to the enterprises.

The generators will help maintain the stable operation of the city's critical infrastructure and improve Mykolaiv's energy security in the face of possible power outages.

Mykolaiv also received a number of high-tech devices and equipment for infrastructure development as part of humanitarian aid from the US government. The city authorities have adopted changes to regulate the receipt of international technical assistance. The equipment was transferred to the balance sheet of the municipal enterprise Operational Linear Road Management.

In addition, Mykolaiv has identified a provider of charitable assistance from the NGO Youth of Ukraine, including water dispensing points that were transferred to the city. Two more educational institutions received generators from international partners to ensure stable operation of schools even during power outages.
