Mykolaiv Region Schools to Receive ₴499.4M for Modern Classrooms and Labs

Schools in Mykolaiv region will receive funding from the Government to equip classrooms. A total of ten territorial communities in the region are to receive funds.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure and conditions for granting a subvention of UAH 499.4 million to create a modern educational space as part of the reform of the Profile High School (the third stage of the New Ukrainian School).

These funds will be used to purchase the latest educational equipment, modern teaching aids and furniture for biology, geography, mathematics, physics, chemistry and STEM laboratories.

The funding will be available to municipal schools that:

Regional military administrations and local councils must identify the school in their region that is most in need of renovation and submit an application.

Funding will be provided from the balance of the educational subvention as of January 1, 2025.

Thus, the subvention is to be received by the Pivdenoukrayinska urban territorial community, Mykolaiv settlement territorial community, Mykolaiv city territorial community, Novoodeska city territorial community, Ochakiv city territorial community, Pervomaiska city territorial community, Pryvilnenska rural territorial community, Syniukhynobridska and Stepivska rural territorial communities.

Modern classrooms and laboratories will help improve the quality of education by developing students' practical skills.

The updated equipment will contribute to the successful implementation of the high school reform. Starting in 2027, students will be able to choose specialized training and courses according to their interests and future professional plans.

Mykolaiv also plans to set up specialized centers for studying the subject"Defense of Ukraine". Students from different educational institutions will be able to attend these centers to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in appropriately equipped rooms. A state subvention has been allocated to create the material and technical base, and co-financing from the local budget is also envisaged.

In addition, shelters are being set up in schools and kindergartens in Mykolaiv to enable more children to return to full-time education. Currently, 64 educational institutions in the city have safe shelters.
