Mykolaivvodokanal's ₴493M Procurement Analysis: Key Expenditures in 2024

In 2024, Mykolaivvodokanal spent more than half a billion hryvnias on procurement. The largest expenditures were for the reconstruction of water supply networks, road repairs, and electricity purchases. Intent decided to analyze the most expensive purchases of the company.

According to Izi.Trade, an electronic public procurement system, the company spent the most on the reconstruction of water supply and sewage systems.

Thus, UAH 22.2 million was planned for the reconstruction of the water supply system, UAH 53.1 million for sewage pumping stations, and UAH 9.7 million for collectors. The total amount amounted to UAH 85 million.

Maintenance of excavators cost UAH 1.9 million, tractor accessories - UAH 4.9 million, vehicle spare parts - UAH 6.1 million, and tires - UAH 4.8 million. It was decided to spend UAH 19.9 million on basic inorganic chemicals and lubricants. Gravel, sand, crushed stone and aggregates cost about 4.1 million. Ice removal from the roads cost 2.7 million.

In order to reduce electricity costs, the company installed solar panels at the production facilities of the wastewater treatment plant, which cost 7.3 million, and more than 239 million hryvnias for electricity purchases. This purchase was the most expensive of the year.

In addition, to ensure that the city would not be left with torn-up roads after the repairs, Mykolaivvodokanal announced tenders for road repairs. The company spent UAH 36.4 million to restore sidewalks and UAH 42.4 million on asphalt paving services.

Other most expensive expenses included the purchase of storm clothes and special footwear for employees (UAH 3.1 million) and printing services (UAH 2.2 million). Over UAH 33.5 million was planned for the purchase of diesel fuel and gas.

Utility companies play a key role in the city's life support, so expenses for repairs, energy and materials are expected. At the same time, the public has the right to know how efficiently they use budget funds and whether procurement prices are transparent.

In total, the company spent more than UAH 493.3 million on the most expensive procurements over the year.

The largest expenditures of the municipal enterpriseMykolaiv Parksin 2024 were related to the purchase of machinery, equipment and maintenance of the city's green areas. One of the most expensive purchases concerned specialized machinery for utility companies.

In addition, in 2024, Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration allocated local budget funds for various needs. In total, over UAH 36 million was planned for procurement. The largest expenditures of Mykolaiv City Council in 2024 included the repair of shelters and administrative buildings, territorial defense measures, and the purchase of souvenirs. One of the largest procurements was the ongoing repair of the basement of the administrative building of the executive committee of the city council to equip a shelter.
