The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have summarized the results of the first six months of 2024.

According to NABU Director Semen Kryvonos, the NABU has launched 323 new investigations, with 166 suspects, 64 cases sent to court, 27 guilty verdicts and 36 corrupt officials punished.

"We focus our attention on top corruption, on multi-million dollar schemes with losses amounting to hundreds of millions of hryvnias. These are investigations into existing corruption, corruption schemes headed by "lookouts" or senior officials," he said.

According to him, as a result of the activities of the NABU and the SAPO, seven senior state officials have been in the dock for six months of this year.

"These are officials of category A, MPs, officials of various state bodies - six top officials, eleven heads of state-owned enterprises, five judges and five deputies of regional councils," said Semen Kryvonos.

In addition, he noted that there are already first suspicions and one verdict in the HACC against a top official on illegal enrichment.

Recently, a case was brought to court on charges of four people involved in a scheme to embezzle UAH 12.3 million in the purchase of air conditioning systems at the South Ukrainian NPP.

Earlier, the NABU sent to court a case on charges of incitement to bribery and committing fraud against Serhiy Vysotskyi, a judge of the Bolhradskyi District Court of Odesa Region.

The NABU also put two former Odesa MPs from the banned OPFL, Viktor Baransky and Vitaliy Sautenkov, on the wanted list. They are suspected of embezzling property of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company.
