NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte Visits Odesa, Streets Closed

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited Odesa on April 15 and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, causing the city to close streets.

The visit was not officially announced, but the police apologized for the temporary inconvenience on Odesa's roads caused by the visit of the international delegation.

The media were also selectively invited to cover the visit, but the principle of selection remained unknown.

Mark Rutte is a Dutch politician, leader of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy from 2006 to 2023. Prime Minister of the Netherlands from October 14, 2010 to July 2, 2024. On June 26, 2024, he was appointed Secretary General of NATO, taking office on October 1, 2024.
