On the night of February 8, explosions occurred in Odesa during an air raid alert. The Russians sent Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones from the Black Sea to the city.

According to the Southern Defense Forces, air defense units managed to destroy five drones in Odesa region.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration (OMA), Oleh Kiper, said that the enemy attack caused damage to civilian infrastructure. In particular, a Russian drone strike damaged an unfinished multi-story building and smashed out glass.

The building of an educational institution was also damaged - the roof and ceilings were broken, windows were smashed, and no fires were reported. All relevant services were working at the arrival site. Law enforcement officers were recording the consequences of another Russian crime.

"Air defense units have effectively worked on the vast majority of enemy targets," summarized Kiper.

Update: As of 9:00 am, two patrol police officers were injured when they were on their way to the site of the attack to help citizens. They sustained mine-blast injuries during the second explosion. The policemen were hospitalized, their condition is stable.

Due to another drone attack on Odesa, the prosecutor's office has launched a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings over violations of the laws and customs of war, the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.

According to the Air Force, the enemy launched the attack with 17 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from Cape Chauda in Crimea. Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack.

As a result of combat operations, 11 "shaheds" were destroyed in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Vinnytsia and Dnipro regions.

In Odesa, the city budget allocated more than 82 million from the Housing and Utilities Development Program to restore buildings damaged by Russian armed aggression and to eliminate the consequences of the destruction.

Stabilization works have also begun in Odesa in a residential building on Serednyi Street, which was hit by a Russian missile on New Year's Eve.
