Currently, almost 70% of the territory of the Kherson region is occupied, which includes 468 settlements.

This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, each community is in touch with the residents. The situation there is extremely difficult.

"Now Russia is engaged in raider seizure of housing, they call it 'nationalization of ownerless property'. In fact, they are stealing the homes of people who have left the occupied communities," the official said.

He also added that the occupiers are threatening to take away housing from people who have not registered their property under Russian law. In some settlements, they install signs on buildings that say "property of the Russian Federation". Subsequently, this housing is given to the Russian military, FSB officers, police, and other people who have come to live in the Kherson region.

"They say that Ukrainian-type documents are invalid, forcing you to take Russian documents. If you don't, they first fine you, then use more severe methods," Prokudin added.

Earlier it was reported that the occupiers are forcing residents of the left-bank Kherson region and other temporarily occupied territories to renounce Ukrainian citizenship. Thus, the Russians continue the policy of forced passportization in the occupied regions. As part of this policy, the enemy is forcing Ukrainians to write an application to renounce their citizenship. This practice was introduced into Russian legislation and is aimed solely at assimilating Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories. There is no such practice for citizens of other countries.

The occupiers have also sent additional Russian Guard forces to the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and other occupied regions of Ukraine.
