Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov has ordered the creation of a coordination council to promote Ukrainian national and civic identity.
The corresponding order was published by the press service of the mayor's office.
The council will consist of more than 20 officials, public figures and deputies, some of whom will be members of the council by law, and others by agreement, such as Yaroslava Vitko-Prysyazhnyuk, a representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language in Odesa Oblast, or Serhiy Hutsalyuk, head of the Southern Interregional Department of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
They will definitely join the commission:
At the invitation of the Council, representatives of local executive authorities and local self-government bodies, as well as civil society institutions, will be able to participate in its meetings.
