Odesa private hospital is among the leaders in profitability in Ukraine

YC.Market analysts have studied the state of the private healthcare sector in Ukraine in 2023-2024 and compiled a rating of the fourth place, which was taken by Odesa-based private clinic Odrex Medical House.

According to analysts, it is the largest private clinic in the southern region with a total revenue of UAH 1.9 billion over two years.

Four individuals are the members of Medicine House LLC, the legal name of the Medical Home: Iryna Zaikova (61.69%), Tigran Harutyunyan (20.56%), Larysa Misotska (17.52%) and Yevhen Savytskyi (0.2299%). Iryna Zaikova and Larysa Misotska also hold significant interests in the Ukrainian Association of Gambling Business Figures.

According to experts, the leader of the private healthcare market in Ukraine in terms of revenues is the Kyiv-based Dobrobut network. In 2023-2024, Dobrobut-Polyclinic received a total of UAH 5.7 billion in revenue, making it the most profitable player in the industry.

The second and third positions are occupied by the largest laboratory chains - DILA - UAH 4.9 billion in revenue and Cinevo Ukraine - UAH 4.3 billion. The top five also includes Biopharma Plasma with about UAH 1.5 billion in revenue. The private blood center is engaged in plasma procurement and specializes in the production of plasma for the manufacture of blood products.

The analysts' attention was also drawn to the private medical center Medicap in Odesa, which offers a wide range of services (polyclinic, surgery, diagnostics) and was ranked 13th in the rating. The center earned UAH 980 million.

According to analysts, most of the major players are concentrated in Kyiv: 10 of the top 15 companies are registered in Kyiv, and they will account for more than UAH 13 billion in revenue in 2024. Two more companies are based in Kyiv region (near Kyiv) and concentrate on the capital's market. In other words, about three-quarters of the large private healthcare market in Ukraine is in the capital and its suburbs. For comparison, Odesa region accounts for about UAH 1.66 billion (about 9.5%), Lviv region about UAH 0.95 billion (5.4%), and Dnipropetrovs'k region about UAH 0.8 billion (4.6%). Other regions are not represented in the top 15.
