Odesa region has been allocated an additional UAH 342.4 million to provide housing for 152 Ukrainian defenders.

This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to him, by the end of the year, more than UAH 4.1 billion will be allocated from the state budget to cover the housing needs of 1,836 families of veterans from among internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities as a result of war and families of the fallen.

"At a meeting chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Viktor Mykyta with the heads of regions, with the participation of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, we discussed steps aimed at supporting our defenders. One of the key issues was the provision of housing for veterans and their families. UAH 342.4 million has been allocated for Odesa region, which will provide housing for 152 people," said the head of the DIA.

According to the UMA, 350 defenders from Odesa region have taken advantage of interest-free loans to buy housing under the eHouse program. The program involves the country's leading banks: Oschadbank, PrivatBank, Ukrgasbank, Ukreximbank and Sensbank. In addition, the number of residential complexes joining eHome is growing. There are already two of them.

Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers changed the requirements for housing that can be purchased under the eOselya affordable mortgage program.

From now on, the program for most citizens will be focused on new or commissioned housing no more than three years ago. At the same time, the government has expanded opportunities for internally displaced persons under the program. They will be able to buy apartments or houses that are up to ten years old, whereas previously the age of housing under eHousing was limited to three years.

The state program of affordable mortgage lending for Ukrainian citizens, eOselya, was launched in August 2022, and as of September 10, 277 people in Odesa region have benefited from it.
