The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported the detention in Odesa region of another agent of the Russian Federal Security Service who was coordinating missile and drone strikes on one of the region's port cities.

According to the SBU press service, the Russians were primarily trying to obtain the coordinates of the basing of personnel and ships of the State Border Guard Service.

The occupiers also hoped to obtain the locations of air defense firing positions that defend the airspace of the southern region. The agent who, according to the SBU, was supposed to provide the FSB with the data they needed was a 39-year-old paramedic at a local emergency medical station. The man came to the attention of the Russian special service back in April of this year, when he posted anti-Ukrainian comments on the aggressor country's Telegram channels.

On the instructions of the occupiers, their accomplice collected intelligence during trips to the coastal area, in particular during ambulance calls. The detainee displayed the information on a Google map and then sent a screenshot to his FSB supervisor.

The SBU documented the criminal actions of the Russian agent and detained him. During the searches, the SBU found two cell phones that he used to communicate with the FSB.

SBU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Also in early August, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, detained a fitness trainer from Odesa who, on the instructions of the FSB, set fire to military vehicles in different cities of Ukraine.
