Odesa Shelling Causes 122 Tons of CO2 Emissions and Injures 4 on March 3

Specialists from the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southwestern District have assessed the consequences of the shelling of Odesa on March 3, 2025.

According to the inspectorate's press service, the fire released almost 122 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The amount of damage was estimated at over UAH 415 thousand. All information about the environmental damage was transferred to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine to form a unified register of environmental crimes of the Russian Federation.

On the evening of March 3, Russians attacked Odesa with Shahed-136 drones. As a result of the evening Russian shelling of Odesa, four people were reported injured, two of whom were hospitalized. Three people, residents of private houses, sustained shrapnel wounds and fractured limbs. They were taken to medical institutions in moderate condition. Another person, who was in the business center at the time of the attack, sustained a concussion.

Energy infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, the business center, and the townspeople's cars were damaged and destroyed.

The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office launched a pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes (Article 438(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to DTEK Odesa Power Grids, as of the morning of March 4, power engineers had powered critical infrastructure facilities and restored electricity to 7,000 families where it was technically possible.

On the night of March 4, 2025 (from 19.00 on March 3), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 99 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones. Air defense shot down 65 drones. Another 32 disappeared from the locators, but without any negative consequences for Ukraine.

Due to the attack, the next day, March 4, tram route 18 was temporarily suspended, and tram 17 will run a shortened route - Kulykove Pole - 6th station of the Big Fountain.
