Olha Maliarchuk Appointed Deputy Head of Kherson Regional Administration

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the candidacy of Olha Maliarchuk, advisor to the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim, for the post of deputy head of Kherson Regional State Administration.

The decision was made on Friday, March 10.

This is stated on the Telegram channel of the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

"The appointment of Olha Maliarchuk as deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration has been agreed," the statement reads.

Now this appointment must be signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Olga Maliarchuk is known as a volunteer who initiated the creation of the Oberig NGO for mothers and wives of military personnel, and previously ran the Center for Assistance to ATO Participants at the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

In 2015, Maliarchuk tried to become a deputy of Mykolaiv City Council from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, but lost the election. In 2019, she tried to become a deputy of the regional council from the European Solidarity party. The following year, she left the ranks of this political force.

In December 2021, she became an advisor to Vitalii Kim on military issues.

Earlier, on March 2, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed military prosecutor Roman Mrochko as the new head of the Kherson City Military Administration.

The change of the head of the MMA took place after repeated criticism of the city's head, Galyna Lugova. She was appointed to this position in September 2022. After the de-occupation of Kherson, the official appointed several deputies at once, but this information has not yet been published on the city's website.

On March 6, the head of the Kherson Military Administration , Oleksandr Prokudin , introduced the new head of the Kherson MVA, Roman Mrochko, to the city council and the city military administration.

On February 20, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Tretiak was appointed as the commandant of Kherson region. Prior to that, he served in special forces units of the military law enforcement service, including the Southern Territorial Department.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution "On the Introduction and Implementation of Certain Measures of the Legal Regime of Wartime" of 08.07.2022, the commandant is an authorized person of a military administration body appointed by an order of the military command or military administration (if established).

The commandant is authorized to organize and ensure measures during the introduction of curfew and the establishment of a special light camouflage regime in the territory where curfew and/or a special light camouflage regime has been introduced.

It also coordinates the actions of the forces and means of units and military command and control bodies of the Armed Forces and other military formations of law enforcement agencies (units), executive authorities, local self-government bodies, military administrations (if established) in such territory.
