The four MPs representing Kherson region in the Verkhovna Rada live on their salaries, do not buy property, and their savings are hardly growing.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations after analyzing the declarations of majoritarian MPs from Kherson region for 2024.
In 2019, the following MPs were elected to the Verkhovna Rada in majority districts of Kherson region: Victoria Vagner, Volodymyr Ivanov, Oleksiy Kovalev, and Pavlo Pavlish from the Servant of the People party, as well as Ihor Kolikhayev, who ran as an independent. In 2020, Kolikhayev resigned his parliamentary powers due to his election as mayor of Kherson, and his seat was taken by Sergiy Kozyr, also a representative of the Servant of the People. In 2022, Oleksiy Kovalev sided with the Russian occupiers and was killed in late August of the same year. In this regard, the Center for Public Investigations analyzed the declarations of four other MPs.
Most of them reported only salaries, no expensive property, and stable income that has not changed since 2022.
The only exception was Pavlo Pavlish, who declared over UAH 12 million in savings. Other MPs - Serhiy Kozyr, Viktoriia Vahner, and Volodymyr Ivanov - have much more modest amounts or no savings at all.
In 2024, Vagner received UAH 964 thousand, of which more than 150 thousand was a pension. Pavlish, Kozyr, and Ivanov live solely on their salaries. Family income is almost non-existent, except for Kozyr's wife, who received alimony and income from the sale of securities.
Kozyr's family owns the most real estate - five apartments in different regions. Vagner declared three apartments with a total area of 121 square meters, Pavlish - two, and Ivanov - none. The latter probably uses his father's house.
The deputies have at least one land plot, several cars, an office, and a parking space as additional property. None of the MPs declared any expensive items, watches, businesses, or new acquisitions over the past three years.
As the CPR summarized, in general, the declarations of MPs from Kherson region show complete financial stagnation: income and property have hardly changed since 2022.
