The occupiers opened a pseudo-channel studio in Simferopol using stolen equipment from a Ukrainian media outlet. Due to the lack of staff in Kherson, the filming was moved closer to the Kherson gauleiter, who has now become the face of the channel.
This was reported by the press service of the National Resistance Center.
According to the press service, the Russians have launched a new pseudo-media studio "Tavria" in occupied Simferopol. To create it, they used equipment that was taken from the Suspilne.Kherson TV and radio company during the escape from the Kherson region in 2022.
The reason for moving the studio from Kherson was the lack of staff who would agree to work according to the Kremlin's methods. Therefore, they decided to shoot closer to Crimea, in particular, near the hotel where the gauleiter Volodymyr Saldo constantly stays. Now he has become the main face of the fake TV channel.
In February, a decree issued by the so-called governor Saldo came into effect in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region, prohibiting the use of equipment for receiving satellite TV and radio signals that allow watching Ukrainian channels.
The Center for National Resistance warned that everyone involved in the work of this propaganda broadcaster, from hosts to technical staff, will be held accountable.
Also, media outlets that were forced to leave Crimea continue to work in mainland Ukraine, waging a quiet but important struggle for the truth every day - despite the loss of offices, equipment, and part of their audience. Their goal is to keep Crimea in the focus of the Ukrainian information space and counter Russian propaganda.
According to Volodymyr Lyashenko, a representative of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, many editorial offices that evacuated from the peninsula are still working, and new online publications focusing on Crimean issues have appeared.
After the annexation of Crimea, the occupation authorities began to actively change the information space, both in terms of content and language, adjusting it to their interests. Intent found out how many media outlets are left that tell the truth about the situation on the peninsula.
