Occupants shelled residential areas of Kherson region, wounding a child who was rescued from the rubble of a destroyed house. The attacks damaged dozens of buildings and civilian infrastructure.
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service, in one of the settlements of Kherson district, an enemy attack destroyed a residential building and an outbuilding that caught fire. Rescuers quickly arrived at the scene, extinguished the fire, and pulled an injured child from the rubble.
Earlier, Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that a 10-year-old girl from Bilozerka was injured. She sustained explosive and craniocerebral injuries, concussion and shrapnel wounds to her legs. The child is currently under medical supervision.
During the day of May 11-12, Russian troops shelled a number of localities in the region. The enemy continuously attacks the region both day and night.
Recently, a boy from Kherson told us how a Russian drone tried to attack him and his friends while they were playing in the street. According to the child, when they saw the drone, they started to run away, but it dropped explosives when one of the boys reached the gate, causing the teenager to suffer shrapnel wounds.
Also in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson, the Russian military committed another crime: a drone dropped explosives on two teenagers who were riding mopeds on their own business. Two 16-year-old boys were injured. One of them received a shrapnel wound to the leg and an explosive injury. The second, who was riding a little behind, sustained a contusion and also an explosive injury. Both teenagers were hospitalized and are now under medical supervision.
This case is just one of hundreds of war crimes committed by Russia against children in the Kherson region. At least 229 children have suffered since the beginning of the full-scale aggression. According to official data, 39 of them were killed, and 190 more suffered injuries of varying severity, from mild to critical.
