SBU officers jointly with the police detained two accomplices of the Russian occupiers who helped the invaders during the temporary occupation of the right-bank part of Kherson region.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the detainees facilitated the deployment of Russian troops in abandoned houses and repaired the invaders' equipment.

One of the defendants, a 42-year-old resident of Myroliubivka, headed the occupation "housing and communal services" after the capture of the village, re-registered it under Russian law and looked for housing for the Russian military. Based on his "guidance," the occupiers settled in the homes of local residents who had left, and also set up ammunition depots.

The second accomplice, a 68-year-old resident of Bruskyne, organized a workshop in his yard to repair damaged enemy vehicles. He also provided the occupiers with food, helped to strengthen the fortifications and agitated people to obtain Russian passports.

After the de-occupation, the offender fled to Kropyvnytskyi, posing as an IDP, but his whereabouts were established by SBU officers.

During the searches, the SBU found unregistered weapons, ammunition and Russian propaganda on one of the suspects.

The suspects have already been served suspicion notices under several articles: aiding the aggressor state and illegal handling of weapons and ammunition. Both are currently in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Meanwhile, two occupiers' accomplices who held senior positions will be tried in Kherson region. In 2022, two local women voluntarily cooperated with the Russian invaders. One of them was promoted to the position of "head of the social policy department," and the other headed the "media and public relations department."

A case against a former tax service employee who made her career under the Russian invaders was brought to court. The woman is accused of treason and faces life imprisonment.

The court also sentenced Olga Volyk, the illegal head of a social service center in Kakhovka, Kherson region. The director was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
