Two heads of occupation bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from Crimea are suspected of treason

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomy, two former employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine from Crimea, who defected to the enemy, were served with a notice of suspicion of treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

It was established that in 2012 and 2013 the suspects worked as the head of the sector for combating drug trafficking of the Bilohirsk District Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea and the deputy head - head of the public security police of the Alushta City Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea. However, after the occupation of the peninsula, they betrayed their oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine and joined the enemy. In particular, one of the suspects was appointed "Deputy Chief of Police for Operational Work of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Department for the Belogorsk District" in 2014, and in 2023 - "Head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Department for the Nyzhnohirsk District", where he still works. Another "law enforcement officer" in 2014 - 2023 worked as "the head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Alushta" and "deputy chief of police for public order protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Yalta".

It is noted that by their actions, the suspects contributed to the establishment and functioning of the occupation law enforcement agencies on the peninsula, as well as assisted representatives of the aggressor state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the SBU Main Directorate in the AR of Crimea.
