The death toll from a missile attack on Odesa on November 18 has risen to 10, including seven police officers, a medic and two local residents.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to the State Emergency Service, the shell hit a residential neighborhood, causing a fire: several dozen cars were burning and there was a threat of fire spreading to residential buildings.

Rescuers and volunteers extinguished the fire over a total area of 500 square meters. In cooperation with other emergency services, the victims were provided with assistance. Two people were rescued. According to preliminary information, 43 people were injured, including 4 children.

Earlier, eight people were reported dead and 39 injured.

The strike damaged three apartment buildings, a university building, and two administrative buildings.

According to the command of the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy attacked Odesa with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, which was shot down by air defense. The downed enemy missile landed in the residential sector of the city's Prymorsky district. In addition, at 11.45 a.m., an enemy Orlan-10 UAV, which was allegedly a reconnaissance aircraft, was shot down by air defense systems on the approach to Odesa.

A missile fired by the Russians on the afternoon of November 18 hit a residential building, causing casualties and injuries.

Meanwhile, Odesa residents are suffering from power supply problems caused by Russian shelling on November 17 - electricity has been cut off in some places for 26 hours. According to the mayor's office, it will be replaced by the usual increased number of taxis and additional large buses that Odesa has received from international partners.

On November 17, the Commission on Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergency Situations of the Odesa Regional State Administration declared October 18 and 19 as days off for schools and kindergartens in Odesa due to the power outage.
