The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed a new interim CEO of Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company.
The relevant order is published on the Cabinet's website.
According to the decree, the company will now be managed by Dmytro Mudrachenko, who has been working at the shipping company as an engineer since April 2020.
"To agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development to temporarily entrust the duties of the General Director of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company to Oleg Leonidovich Mudrachenko, Head of the Maintenance Division of the Technical Department," the Cabinet of Ministers said.
The previous director , Dmytro Moskalenko, was dismissed on January 10. Moskalenko did not give any reasons for his dismissal, but the order published by the media mentions memos from specialized agencies and the results of an internal audit.
Dmytro Moskalenko has been the head of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company since February 23, 2022. Prior to that, he held senior positions in the water transport industry, including at the state-owned Ukrvodshlyakh.
Recently, Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) signed a new contract for the transportation of iron ore from Ukraine to Serbia.
Prior to that, UDP failed to sell six vessels of its fleet as a single lot with a starting price of UAH 440 million 680 thousand 132.
Earlier, a court in Vienna rejected the Russian Federation's claim to the buildings of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company in the center of the Austrian capital.
In 2023, the Danube ports in Odesa region broke last year's records. Then, the seaports of the Danube region handled 27.6 million tons of cargo in 10 months of 2023, which is 45.6% more than was handled in the same period in 2022.
