In the Kherson sector, Russian troops are actively testing new types of weapons, including drones, electronic warfare systems, and modern ammunition.

Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, told Vgoru.

According to him, the Russians feel relatively safe on the left bank of the Dnipro River, as a large water barrier complicates the work of Ukrainian troops, so the occupiers use this area as a training ground for shelling and testing equipment.

"They are shelling not only Kherson, but also Nikopol and Marhanets, in particular, using the territory of Zaporizhzhia NPP, which has been turned into a military base," noted Voloshyn.

According to him, Russian troops are also amassing reserves on the left bank of the Kherson region and other occupied territories, preparing for new assaults in the summer of 2025. They are now operating in small infantry groups along the entire front line to minimize their own losses.

On May 26-27, Russian troops did not stop attacking in the Kherson region. Eight people were injured in the shelling, including two children.

The occupiers targeted both critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential areas. Two multi-storey buildings, four private houses, a gas pipeline, a cell tower and several cars were damaged. Eight people were wounded in the shelling, including two children. In the morning, on May 27, the enemy resumed drone attacks on the regional center. A 59-year-old local resident sustained mine-blast trauma and shrapnel wounds. Police officers took the man to the hospital.

Over the course of the day from May 25 to 26 , Russian troops continued to terrorize the civilian population - dozens of settlements in the region were under attack. The occupiers attacked from the air, using drones, artillery and aircraft.
