The Armed Forces of Ukraine highly appreciate the contribution and assistance of Ukrainian volunteers in the fight against the Russian occupiers, and this also applies to Serhiy Sternenko, but the defense of the Fatherland is a constitutional duty of citizens.

The Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released a statement.

"In the face of the enemy, which is superior in manpower and equipment, the help of volunteers is vital, especially in providing combat units with drones of various modifications. This also applies to the effective cooperation with the Defense Forces of volunteer and public figure Serhiy Sternenko. At the same time, the mobilization of specific citizens is carried out by the decision of the territorial recruitment and social support centers, which have the right to serve calls to persons liable for military service to clarify their credentials, undergo medical examinations and mobilize," the military emphasized.

The command also reminded that according to Article 65 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the defense of the Fatherland, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine is a constitutional duty of Ukrainian citizens. Citizens perform military service in accordance with the law.

"If a citizen liable for military service has health problems, the issue of his or her fitness for military service is decided during the preliminary medical examination. It should also be remembered that a large number of civil society activists and volunteers have joined the Armed Forces and are fulfilling their constitutional duty," the military said.

Earlier, the Odesa Regional CCC and JV commented on the information about the search for activist Serhiy Sternenko. They provided an official explanation to avoid possible manipulations and distortions of information against the background of Sternenko 's recent statements about being wanted and his criticism of the work of the Odesa Regional Recruitment and Social Support Center (RSC).

On November 7, activist Serhiy Sternenko reported that he was put on the wanted list. He learned about it from a publication in the sanctioned Strana website and from the Russian propaganda agency RT.

According to him, he was allegedly put on the wanted list by the Primorsky Territorial Recruitment Center, which sent the documents to the police. But Sternenko's police, he says, did not inform him, instead, the Russians got this information.
