Two Russian oil tankers sink in the Kerch Strait.

According to Krym.Realii, these are Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239, which are sinking a few kilometers from the shore. People are said to have been on the decks for about 4 hours waiting for help. It is alleged that the cause was powerful waves.

"As eyewitnesses told us, powerful waves broke through the ships. The rescue boat is currently sailing towards Volgoneft-239. Each vessel has 13 crew members on board. First, the Volgoneft-212 vessel carrying more than 4 tons of fuel oil was hit, followed by the Volgoneft-239 an hour later," the statement said.

"The Volgoneft is an oil tanker designed to transport crude oil and oil products.

Telegram channels also report that a helicopter with rescuers took off to help the crew of the Volgoneft 212 tanker. The rescue tug Mercury left the annexed Kerch.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirms that two Russian tankers are sinking in the Kerch Strait. According to the Ministry, there are 13 people on board Volgonaft-212 and 14 people on board Volgonaft-239.
