Mykolaiv region is looking for a contractor for almost a billion hryvnias to maintain national roads until the end of 2026. The winner will be selected in May, and the terms include bank guarantees and the possibility of advance payments.
This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro public procurement system.
A tender for the operational maintenance of state roads has been announced in Mykolaiv region. The customer is the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service, which plans to conclude a contract for additional work on the routine maintenance of roads - from cleaning and repairing the pavement to maintaining roadsides and road signs.
The expected value of the procurement is over UAH 946 million. The contractor will use these funds to maintain public roads of national importance in a passable condition until the end of 2026. This includes additional works necessary for the safety and convenience of traffic.

Bids from participants are accepted until May 16, and the auction is scheduled for May 19. The winner will have to provide a bank guarantee worth almost UAH 9.5 million as security for their bid, as well as a contract performance guarantee - a standard requirement for procurements of this scale.
Prepayment is allowed, but only if the relevant decision of the chief budget holder is made and not more than 30% of the annual cost of the work.
Also, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Mykolaiv region announced another tender, this time for UAH 70.3 million. The contractor will use the money to apply horizontal markings on national roads. Meanwhile, in April, a new Ternopil-based company that has already attracted the attention of journalists and law enforcement due to dubious connections and facts in its activities was awarded a nearly billion-dollar contract for road maintenance.
In addition, the Kherson region has completed tenders for road overhaul, with three companies winning and sharing more than half a billion hryvnias. Their business has repeatedly been at the center of journalistic investigations and has been involved in criminal proceedings.
