On February 27, a meeting was held in Mykolaiv region as part of the Dialogue between Government and Business platform dedicated to the logistics services of Ukrzaliznytsia. The participants discussed issues of cargo transportation, including export and import transportation.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
The event was attended by representatives of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, heads of specialized departments, and Gennadiy Savchenko, deputy director of the Ukrzaliznytsia branch. In addition to the offline participants, about 50 representatives of logistics companies, the agricultural sector, and processing companies joined the zoom conference.
According to Mykolaiv Regional Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Mykola Marinov, such meetings are important for the development of regional business.
Gennadiy Savchenko spoke in detail about the company's cargo transportation capabilities, including international routes and logistics infrastructure.
The cargo potential of Ukrzaliznytsia consists of various branches. These are almost all regional centers and railroad crossings to Europe. Our main task is to expand our customer base, engage in cooperation and open up new business potential," said Savchenko.
During the discussion, the participants raised a number of issues, including tracking the movement of wagons, maintenance of stevedoring tracks in ports and logistics connections with Kazakhstan.
In 2024, Mykolaiv region enterprises exported products worth more than $800 million, with grains, oilseeds, and oil being the main products. Imports mainly consisted of machinery, transportation, and food products. The region is also a leader in terms of growth in personal income tax revenues and ranked second in terms of growth in general fund revenues among Ukrainian regions.
Ukrainian enterprises can also receive up to 20 thousand euros to improve energy sustainability. Businesses in Mykolaiv region will have access to funding as the region is included in the priority zone due to significant losses in the energy sector. The grants can be used to purchase energy equipment, including solar panels, wind turbines, diesel generators, and batteries.
